Hi SHC!
I am so honored to be the Editor-in-Chief of the Emerald for the 2024-2025 school year! Throughout the past three years at SHC, I have not only been a part of this hard-working team as a writer, section editor, and head copy editor, but I have also seen the immense amount of growth and change it has gone through to incorporate itself as a fundamental aspect of the SHC experience.
As a writer, I am always seeking to come up with new ideas that inspire my sense of self and my beliefs, which is exactly what I want to encourage others to do as they follow their own journeys. I hope to maintain a welcoming and safe community that will be more publicized next year as a space to learn about the art of journalism.
My biggest objective for next year is to inspire others to build a community in which ideas are respected and able to be explored through journalism. Whether it be a fun photo essay or a piece on an important political issue, writers are invited to voice their interests and pursue passions in a vast arena of possibilities.
I am so happy to help expand the already amazing presence the Emerald has in the SHC community. This program has truly changed my life and allowed me to find solace and passion in my writing, which is why I hope to bring as much good to this team as it has brought to my own life. The Emerald will continue to deliver the quality content it has always created and inspire so many others in the community to do the same.
