Whether you’re a freshman, a senior, or somewhere in between, it is never too early or too late to join a new club at SHC. This year, students have created two more exciting clubs: the Marketing Club and the Slime Club. These new clubs have been a big hit and a great contribution to the school community. The Emerald interviewed each club’s student leaders to learn more about them and the variety of reasons to join.
Slime Club:

What is the Slime Club all about?
Slime Club is a creative outlet where you can have fun with your friends and make your own slime with provided materials!
What do you do during each meeting?
Every meeting, we have gallons of glue, cans of shaving cream, food coloring, and extra add-ins like glitter. Everyone gets their own bowl and adds whatever they would like into their personal slime creation.
If you were to give one reason as to why someone should join this club, what would it be?
Slime Club is a very chill and exciting place where you can do some crafts with friends and take home a slime that you made.

Marketing Club:

What is the Marketing Club all about, and what is one reason you enjoy being part of the club?
The Marketing Club is a fun group that explores different marketing strategies and their real-world applications. Our activities include lesson presentations, creative projects, and possibly guest speakers, all with the goal of helping us build our skills and understanding of the field. We enjoy being part of the Marketing Club because we learn more about marketing in ways that aren’t covered in any classes here, and we get to talk with others who are just as interested.
Why did you decide to be a club leader for this club?
We decided to be club leaders for the Marketing Club because we are passionate about marketing and want to create an engaging space where others can learn and share ideas. We believe that by leading, we can help make the club a valuable resource for anyone interested. We’re also just excited to organize activities that make learning about marketing simpler, more practical, and fun.
What do you do during each meeting?
We do mini lessons, play marketing-related games/ activities, projects, and we’re hoping to have speaker events.
If you were to give one reason as to why someone should join this club, what would it be?
One reason to join the Marketing Club is that you can learn about marketing in a fun, hands-on way and try out ideas with others who are interested. If you’re even a little interested in marketing but don’t know where to start, joining the Marketing Club is a great way to learn alongside others who feel the same.
